SWEET, BLUE, BOHEMIAN

I love it when a kids, in this case a kindergartener, claims their creative independence. This girl was over her bubblegum pink room and had a specific color palette in mind - mint and navy. She was willing to give up her huge room to move into a smaller one as long as she was able to make it her own. Now, how can you not give her that creative freedom. I can tell she's going to be an awesome free spirit and I love it. I wanted to add another color to her mint and navy to create a full palette. And think coral is the perfect not pink, playful color. I was mindful to choose pieces that will grow with her as well as items that can easily be changed out...aka no minty painted walls. :)

FAMILY ROOM MADE FOR FAMILY TIME

This client wants a family room with 3 objectives - lounging, reading and getting cozy. Their style is more rustic, but they also want that fresh and modern feel. So, I combined the two - focused on the modern with the larger pieces and balanced it with warm rustic details, like leather, distressed wood and iron.

MIXING STYLES

Adding a few accessories to complete a family room: we are going for laid-back, modern with just the right amount of rustic warmth. The hardest part about shopping for others is holding back the urge to buy for yourself. But those pillows....<3.

FIND AND SEEK...

A little inspiration for today's shopping trip - sourcing cooling vintage accessories for extra large empty built-in bookcase!

MELLOW YELLOW

I'm noticing that I like pop yellow in my projects. A touch of sunshine just makes everything happier. ;P  Don't be afraid to add a little color into your home, it can really change the mood of the room.

LET'S LOUNGE AT THE LAKE, SHALL WE

I'm just going to pretend that this is my work station for the day. I would get a lot done here...with nothing but lake views, fresh air and wide open space. Wouldn't that be nice.
